I am thinking about filing for bankruptcy, will it affect my social security benefits?

I am about to retire next year and I am absolutely drowning in debt that I have FAITHFULLY tried for over 30 years to get rid of. I am getting older and I think its time for me to face reality. I want to file for bankruptcy and pay using that system instead, can I still receive my social security benefits?
