I am presently working in NYC but plan on retiring and moving to North Carolina in 4-5 years.?

The housing market in North Carolina did not take as big a drop in pricing as it did in other parts of the country. I have a house near Charlotte and it has gone down about15%, I also have a house in So Calif and it has gone down about 35% Houses in the southern states do not appreciate or depreciate at the same pace as those in the north east or far west.
